Hello. I'm Justin Schlecter - an artist, entrepreneur, programmer, baker, and proud father. Always busy with many projects in the works, I need more time and stronger tea...
I create multidimensional geometric wire sculptures inspired by forms in pure mathematics, chemistry, and nature. My favorite medium is a modular building system which I invented. This building system uses steel wire and brass tubing held together by the forces of tension and compression.
My sculptures range in size from 10cm to 1.5m in diameter. They're often illuminated from the inside-out which gives them personality and produces playful shadows. I like to imagine my sculptures as 3-dimensional shadows cast from a higher dimensional space where the sculptures actually reside.
As I continue to advance the design and complexity of the wire structures, I'm experimenting with extending or interrupting the patterns by incorporating new materials into my work.
I'm the Founder and CEO of UpsideOut, Inc., a website development firm specializing in innovative privacy and security solutions for individuals and businesses worldwide. I'm also Managing Partner at Just Holdings, LLC, a corporation which licenses intellectual property, domain names, and technology to third party companies.
I'm the architect and lead developer of all of UpsideOut's products and services. I'm a programmer, expert in Perl and PHP and proficient in many markup and scripting languages.
